Why I Started Memory Lane Flower Studio
Moving to Amsterdam was never really a rational decision.
It was a heart decision.
For almost ten years, I kept visiting friends here and every time I came back, I could picture myself living in this city. There was something about Amsterdam that stayed with me long after leaving again — the little canal houses, rainy evenings glowing under streetlights, flowers outside tiny cafés, people biking home with bouquets in their hands.
It felt creative. Open. Alive.
A melting pot of people from all over the world, all bringing their own stories, cultures and ideas together in one place.
Sometimes I still walk through the city and feel like I’m inside a movie scene.
Like an Olivia Dean song softly playing in the background — “I Could Be A Florist.”
From Fashion & Interiors to Flower Design
Coming from a background in fashion and interiors, I was always drawn to atmosphere, aesthetics and storytelling. For more than 10 years, I worked in creative industries where everything revolved around creating feeling through spaces, textures, colours and visual identity.
But somewhere in between all of that, flowers quietly became the thing I loved most.
I started going to the flower market almost every week. Not because I had to — simply because it made me happy. Styling flowers always felt meditative to me. Grounding. Creative. No matter what kind of day I was having, flowers always made me smile.
At some point, curiosity turned into intuition.
One day, after talking to my hairdresser about my love for flowers, she told me:
“You should just walk into that flower shop around the corner on Kinkerstraat and ask if they need help.”
So I did.
I walked in and asked:
“Do you maybe need help or someone on your team?”
And they said yes.
That small moment changed everything.
Learning Floristry in Amsterdam
Since beginning my journey in flower design, I’ve had the chance to work alongside incredible flower designers, learn different techniques and be part of inspiring workshops and destination weddings in Italy and Greece. Working at two of Amsterdam’s best flower shops gave me a deep understanding of floristry, craftsmanship and creativity.
Over time, my work naturally evolved into designing flowers for weddings and events in Amsterdam and beyond. Creating floral concepts that tell a couple’s story slowly became the heart of what I do.
Amsterdam itself continued shaping me creatively. There’s such an inspiring founders culture here — especially women building beautiful businesses from intuition, passion and creativity. Meeting those people along the way made taking the leap into starting my own studio feel possible.
Creating Memory Lane Flower Studio
And slowly, Memory Lane Flower Studio came to life.
Not from a business plan first — but from feeling.
Looking back now, it almost feels like a flower simply finding the surroundings where it was always meant to grow.
Memory Lane was created from passion, intuition and the belief that beauty and memories truly matter.

Today, Memory Lane Flower Studio focuses on wedding flowers, destination weddings and event floral design in Amsterdam and across Europe. Each project starts with a story — translating emotion, atmosphere and personal moments into floral design.
Working as a wedding and event florist in Amsterdam means being part of some of life’s most meaningful celebrations. From intimate city weddings to large destination events, flowers become more than decoration — they become memory markers.
While Amsterdam is home, my work often travels beyond the city. I design flowers for destination weddings across Europe, working with international couples who choose meaningful locations to celebrate their story. Whether in Amsterdam, Italy, Greece or elsewhere, each floral design begins with atmosphere, emotion and memory.
And honestly, I still feel incredibly grateful that I get to live this dream in a city like Amsterdam.
